Editorial team

Health and money are sensitive topics. That is why every text has a source, a review status and a date.

Who writes

The glossary, guides and news are the responsibility of the die-krankenkasse.ch editorial team of FinanceRock GmbH. Every page names “Editorial team die-krankenkasse.ch” as the author. We name individuals only once they have agreed to be named; we will then add their profiles with qualifications and responsibilities here.

The texts are written with the support of software, including AI tools. The editorial team is always responsible: every figure, deadline and legal statement is checked against the primary source before the text is published, and automatically checked for language, links and mandatory information.

Editorial principles

  1. Sources required: every premium, deadline and key figure comes from a primary source and states its date. The sources are listed with links below every text.
  2. No invented figures: we only state premiums from FOPH data, with year, municipality and premium region. Premiums for a new year appear only once the FOPH has published them.
  3. Examples are examples: people in examples are fictitious and marked as examples. We do not tell real medical stories.
  4. No medical advice: we explain what insurance pays for, not which treatment is right. What counts is the law, the general terms and conditions of insurance (GTC) and the information from your health insurer.
  5. No recommendation of a health insurer: we compare using data. With us, “cheapest” always comes with the year, municipality, insurance model and deductible.
  6. Independent: insurers have no influence on content; there are no paid texts and no paid placements. How the operator earns money is set out in the Disclosure.
  7. Politically neutral: we describe pending bills (for example minimum deductible, emergency fee, uniform financing of outpatient and inpatient services, EFAS) with their status and source, without taking sides.

Review process

Every piece of content has a review status, visible at the end of the page:

StatusMeaning
Draftwritten and supported by sources, automatic checks passed, expert review pending
Reviewedread against the sources by a professionally qualified person, with name and date

The automatic checks run with every change: mandatory sections and length per page type, valid internal links, at least one source (for benefit pages a legal basis on fedlex), Swiss spelling, no advertising phrases, plausible years. We also spot-check content by hand against the sources and document these checks.

Legal texts (Legal notice, Privacy policy, Terms of use, Intermediary information, Disclosure) additionally carry the status “to be reviewed by a lawyer” until the operator approves them.

Keeping content up to date

After premium day at the end of September, when laws change and when new GTC are issued, we review the content concerned. The date of the last change is shown on every page (“Updated on”).

Corrections

Have you found an error? Write to us via the contact form and name the page, the passage and, if possible, the source. We check every report. We correct confirmed errors, update the “Updated on” date and record significant corrections in the change log below. How we calculate premiums and key figures is explained under How we calculate.
