About Krankenkasse Wädenswil
The legal entity behind Krankenkasse Wädenswil is “Stiftung Krankenkasse Wädenswil” (legal form: foundation, UID CHE-110.206.124), based in Wädenswil. The FOPH register does not assign the insurer to any insurance group. The register gives its area of operation as “AG, SZ, ZG, ZH”. Why the solvency ratio matters
The solvency ratio shows whether an insurer’s reserves are sufficient to bear the risks of a bad year (KVG solvency test under the Health Insurance Supervision Act, KVAG). At 100%, the required minimum reserves are just in place; below that, the insurer must take action, for example by raising premiums.
In August 2025, the FOPH declared the insurer KLuG (Zug, around 9,300 insured persons) insolvent and withdrew its licence as of 31.12.2025. In the KVG solvency test as of 01.01.2025, its solvency ratio was 69%. The insolvency fund of the Common Institution under the Federal Health Insurance Act took over outstanding benefits; insured persons were able to switch or were taken over by Helsana.
